Many people arrive carrying similar things: grief, caregiving stress, burnout, anxiety about the future, and questions of identity.
Caregiving can be deeply meaningful but it can also be quietly exhausting, in ways that are hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t lived it. You become the decision-maker for a parent or partner too soon, stepping into a reversal of roles while facing an uncertain future. Emotions surface that you didn’t expect: guilt, anger, fear, even resentment, none of which mean you love any less.
Others arrive unsteady in a different way: unsure who they are anymore, or where they’re meant to be. This isn’t only a twenties question; it can surface at 30, 40, or later, after a breakup, a move, a career change, a milestone that didn’t feel the way you thought it would. When you look at your life and don’t quite recognize it, or yourself, that disorientation is real and deserves more than reassurance.
I built It’s Not Wednesday to be what I couldn’t find during the years I was asking myself these questions: support that cuts through the jargon, honours the grief that begins long before a loss, and helps you stay connected to yourself while everything changes. A space where you don’t have to perform or have it figured out before you walk in. Where you can simply be honest and real about what’s going on for you.
In our work together, I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and existential therapy, woven together based on your needs, your goals, your lived experience. Alongside these core approaches, sessions are informed by compassion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and a polyvagal-informed understanding of the nervous system. We aim to soften the self-criticism, re-authoring the stories you carry about yourself, and making sense of what your body is doing under stress.
The approach is never the point. You are. These are simply the tools I reach for, guided by what’s showing up for you.
